How much does coaching cost?
The initial consultation is completely free. If you decide to work with us, coaching is priced on a time basis.
Can you help me meet my deadline?
Most students who approach us are behind schedule and running short on time. Book a free consultation and we'll give you an honest view of whether your deadline is realistic and what it would take.
What actually happens in a coaching session?
You meet your coach one-on-one on a video call and work through whatever you're stuck on, with your draft or data on screen. Between sessions, you can send chapters for detailed written feedback or ask quick questions by email.
Is this allowed by universities?
Yes, and many universities refer students to us directly. You're welcome to tell your supervisor you're working with a coach; there's nothing to hide. We never write for you, and we never take part in anything that could count as academic misconduct.
Can you write my dissertation or thesis for me?
No. All writing has to be your own. We will guide you through the research process and give you detailed feedback, but writing it for you would be academic misconduct. Be careful with any service that offers to write your dissertation: using one can put your degree at risk, sometimes years after you've graduated, and a lot of these services do low-quality work or are outright scams.
Will my coach know my subject?
Our expertise and focus is research methodology and academic writing, the skills every dissertation needs, whatever the field. You bring your discipline and topic, and we help you turn them into credible academic research. If a particular coach's background suits you, you're welcome to book your free consultation with them directly.
How many hours of coaching will I need?
It depends on where you are and what you need. After the free chat, your coach suggests a plan of support. You can top up any time, and your hours stay valid for a year.
Am I too far along (or not far enough) to start?
Whether you're just getting started or racing to finish your final chapters, we meet you where you are. We support every stage, from topic ideation and your research proposal to your literature review, methodology, data analysis and viva or defense. There's no wrong time to get support.
What if I'm not ready to commit?

Will my work be kept confidential?
Yes. Your work is treated as confidential and never shared with anyone else or published anywhere. We're happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement if you'd like one.
Will I keep the same coach?
Yes. You work with the same coach from start to finish, unless you'd like to switch. And if the fit isn't right, we'll find you a better one.
What does a dissertation coach do?
A dissertation coach is a doctoral-qualified expert who guides you through your research one-on-one. They help you plan, get you moving when you're stuck, and give detailed feedback on your chapters, while every word stays yours. In the UK the same role is usually called a dissertation tutor, and in the US a coach or consultant.
Is dissertation coaching worth it?
It's worth it if you're stuck, short on support from your advisor or running out of time, because an hour with someone who knows what examiners look for can save weeks of guesswork. It isn't worth it if you're hoping someone will write it for you; we won't. The free consultation is the quickest way to find out whether it would help in your case.
How is a coach different from my advisor?
Your advisor oversees and approves your research, often for many students at once, so their time with you is limited. A coach works alongside them: available when you need help, focused only on your progress, and happy to spend an hour on the section you're stuck on. Your advisor still makes the academic calls; your coach helps you get the work there.
