Kerryn is a multidisciplinary researcher, educator, and science communicator with a passion for making complex ideas easy to understand and engaging. With a PhD in Archaeology specialising in Human Evolution, and a background spanning biology, geology, and data science, she brings a truly interdisciplinary lens to dissertation coaching.

Experience

Kerryn has worked across research, academia, and public engagement. She’s lectured and tutored extensively at the University of Cape Town in subjects including human evolution, archaeology, biology, and geology. She’s also served as a postdoctoral fellow in evolution education and worked as a data scientist and engagement lead at the South African Environmental Observation Network.

As a course convenor and thesis co-supervisor, she’s supported students at all levels, from undergraduates finding their footing to postgrads finalising their dissertations. Her ability to blend academic rigour with approachability makes her a favourite among students.

Qualifications

Kerryn holds a PhD, MSc, BSc (Hons), and BSc from the University of Cape Town, focused on archaeology and human biology. She’s also completed training in science communication, anatomy, and global citizenship.

Outside academia, Kerryn is a ukulele-playing, operetta-singing science communicator who’s experimenting with blending tech, theatre, and education. Her creative spark and adventurous energy bring a unique flavour to the coaching experience.
