Transcript: Lara’s experience with Grad Coach
My name is Lara and I completed my master’s degree in international business in Germany. My master’s degree was fully in English, although I studied in Germany. So we had a lot of international topics on marketing as well as digitalization, but also sustainability. So my master’s topic that I wrote about was digitalization and sustainability in the EU.
Before I joined Grad Coach, my main challenge was I was really lost. I didn’t know how to encounter writing a thesis itself. I really didn’t know how to start, how to structure it. Having these challenges made me feel lost and also a bit sad. And it was in German, in my mother language. So yeah, it made me feel sad. Also very stressed because I knew I had to do this in the next six months. So yeah, stressed, helpless, negative emotions.
I decided to join Grad Coach because I was lost and I wanted to finish this project. At the same time, knowing myself, I also wanted to do it in the best way possible. So I thought I want to get help on structuring the thing, on getting hands on with the project and doing the best that I can. I chose Grad Coach because honestly, it was the first thing that came up. And one point that was really important for me is that I didn’t have to pay anything beforehand. I got the opportunity to meet. This made me feel trust in Grad Coach — to be able to meet someone beforehand, not having to pay for anything that I don’t know what it would be.
Working with Grad Coach made me feel supported. I knew I had someone that helped me guiding the process, helped me to have less stress. I mean, obviously, I wrote it myself, but knowing that there was someone who supported me and was just really there was a real relief through this whole process, which is just stressful. It made me calm and took this negative feeling that I had beforehand.
I joined Grad Coach really early in my writing process. So I can say for anyone who is thinking about joining Grad Coach, do it as soon as you realize you’re stuck somewhere. Because I did it, I think it was like two weeks into my process. I was like, you know what? No, I can’t do it myself. I have to get some help. So I can just say I joined as early as possible. And I’m so glad and lucky that I did and that I found you. So yeah, join as soon as you can because you will benefit a lot more and you will not have wasted too much time in your process doing nonsense or struggle.
I would recommend Grad Coach to anyone that is feeling stressed about writing a thesis or any project during their studies because it helps you. It makes you feel comfortable. I would say less stressed. I think I used this word so many times, but it just gives you a feeling of comfort and you know that you can do it. You have someone who supports you and who believes in you, and this is really probably the most important thing — having a backup support and someone who believes in you.
The one thing that I can understand might also be a point for some people could be the price. At the same time, I have to say it’s really worth it. Before you have the service, it can be like, okay, what do I get for my money? But then at the same time, I cannot say anything negative about it because it helped me so much and I would pay every cent again. So me, myself, having done this, I can really say it’s worth the money and don’t be afraid of spending it, because it’s spent on yourself. It’s spent on your future. It’s spent on your work. I have my master’s now and I did a very, very good job. I mean, also thanks to myself, but also thanks to Grad Coach.
