What This Checklist Covers

A run through everything your introduction chapter needs to establish, grouped into seven sections:

• Context and background — enough for an outsider to follow.
• Research focus — what you’re investigating, and why it matters.
• Aims, objectives and questions — specific, and aligned with each other.
• Scope and limitations — what’s in, what’s out, what constrains it.
• Structure and organization — the roadmap for what follows.
• Compliance and quality control — word count, formatting, citations.
• Final review — reading it standalone, and acting on feedback.

The checklist can be copied to your Google Drive or downloaded as a fully editable document, so you can tick items off as you go.
