With over 12 years’ experience in academia, Alexandra has lectured, advised and supervised students, ranging from undergrads to PhDs.

Experience

Before joining Grad Coach, she served as Distance Education Advisor at Unity College. Prior to this, Alexandra was the coordinator of the Center for Global Languages and Cultures at John Carroll University. Previously, she was Assistant Professor of French and Linguistics at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, where she taught courses in French, foreign language pedagogy, and linguistics.

In addition to her teaching and administrative experience, Alexandra has supervised and supported several student research projects and theses, from initial topic ideation and refinement, all the way through to final edit.

Qualifications

Alexandra completed her BA in Modern Languages and Literatures (French and Russian) at Kenyon College in Ohio. She then went on to earn her MA in French (and even lived in France!), with specialisations in French and Francophone Literature and Culture from Illinois State University. During her MA, she developed a passion for language teaching and learning, which motivated her to pursue a PhD in Second Language Acquisition from the University of Iowa. Addicted to lifelong learning, she recently completed a PGDip in Education, from the University of Exeter in the UK.
