Meet Dr Denise Paneduro (PhD)

With over 15 years of experience in psychology, education, and public health, Denise brings both academic expertise and a compassionate, mentoring approach to Grad Coach. She has held faculty appointments at the University of Toronto and York University, while also founding and directing research and training initiatives focused on wellbeing and professional growth.

Denise’s passion lies in empowering students to build confidence, resilience, and technical research skills. She thrives on guiding learners through challenges such as narrowing research questions, aligning aims and objectives, and staying motivated, helping them achieve success while maintaining balance and well-being throughout their academic journey.

Experience

Denise has extensive academic and professional experience spanning research, teaching, and mentorship across leading institutions. She has held several faculty roles, including Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Denise has co-supervised and mentored students from undergraduate through doctoral and postdoctoral levels, supporting them from proposal development to publication.

Beyond her faculty roles, she has provided leadership as Head of Research and Chair for mindfulness-based professional community organizations which are dedicated to mentorship, education, research, and knowledge dissemination. Denise also founded and directs Mind Evolution, an academic consulting enterprise focused on developing and evaluating wellness programs and initiatives for education, healthcare, community, and corporate contexts.

Qualifications

Denise holds a PhD in Psychology (Developmental Science), an MA in Psychology (Developmental & Cognitive Processes), and an Honours BA in Psychology from York University. She has also completed advanced training in statistics (SAS and SPSS), qualitative research (NVivo), EEG data collection, and R programming, alongside certifications in stress management, resiliency, and mindfulness-based interventions.

Her academic and professional development reflects both depth and breadth—spanning rigorous methodological expertise and applied training in health, education, and wellbeing. This strong foundation enables her to provide holistic, research-informed guidance to students navigating the complexities of their academic work.
