Meet Kathleen Mulvaney-Panjwani (PhD)

Kathleen is an experienced researcher who leverages over a decade of real-world expertise in designing and conducting social science research to provide meaningful and sustained support to students on their journey to degree completion. She leads with curiosity and enthusiasm to help new researchers design, implement, and report findings from their studies.

As a dissertation committee member and senior researcher, Kathleen has guided novice scholars through the full research process, providing clear, actionable feedback to help them produce high-quality work. Whether working on qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research, she ensures students develop the skills and confidence to achieve their goals.

As a dissertation committee member and methodologist, she supports students through each step of their research journey, whether they’re working with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods. Kathleen is especially skilled at translating complex research into clear, actionable insights for both academic and policy audiences.

Qualifications

Kathleen holds a PhD and MA in Education Policy Studies from the University of Maryland and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. She’s trained in What Works Clearinghouse design standards and has extensive experience with federal datasets, statistical modelling, and qualitative methods—including hundreds of interviews across the U.S. Her blend of academic and real-world research expertise ensures students receive practical, high-quality support.
